Chief Executive Officer
Damas has worked in Maine for more than 20 years. He arrived in the United States as a licensed commercial pilot and has since worked in a variety of industries, from home health centers to food processing plants. He also managed multi-million dollar grants at Laborers International Union of North America in Connecticut and worked in disability insurance at UNUM for 14 years. He has a Masters in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Community and Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University.
In 2017, Damas co-founded the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center, a hub of collaboration that strengthens the immigrant community through language acquisition, economic integration, and civic engagement. As Director of Operations and Finance at the GPIWC, Damas helped to enhance the visibility of, and access to, the immigrant workforce in Maine and developed a cross-cultural network of professionals. In addition to New Mainers Staffing and his continuing role as a community leader, Damas owns the 207 Bar & Restaurant, an African eatery in downtown Portland.
Director of Operations
Joyeux arrived in Maine in 2015 after a 16-year long management career in the Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK working for various communication companies creating strategies to promote effective communication.
Since 2016, Joyeux has worked in many group homes in Maine as direct support, house manager, and program manager. He is dedicated to helping improve the lives of the people in the immigrant community by creating jobs in home healthcare and the trucking industry. He also provides training for direct support professionals as well as other fields, such as manufacturing. Joyeux is the co-owner and -founder of New England Integrated Living Support, where he works as HR Director and Director of Quality Assurance. In that role, he serves as the go-to person for career advice, creating opportunities for growth and leadership. Joyeux holds a BA in Business Management from Fontys Hogescholen, in the Netherlands.
